I’m a southern gal living in North Carolina. I am a Christian who strives to live with intention all that God has created me to be. My prayer is that I encourage you with writing about my faith, family, and running. God has given me a heart for young adults and seeing them grow in their faith in Christ. I have a background in missions (Youth With A Mission), working with college and young adult groups, leading small groups, Bible studies, and working with those that have disabilities.
My love of writing started early and I remember writing as a young child while visiting my grandparents at their cottage on Otsego Lake in Gaylord, Michigan. Whether I was writing to a friend telling them about my trip, writing out poems, or whatever came to mind I found a passion for writing long ago. My grandma Peabody would encourage me to write and critique what I had written. To this day I still picture myself running up to her with something I had written so she could critique it. I always wanted to make her proud.
Four years ago I started running at the request of a friend who wanted me to run a race in Charleston, SC. I ran and she walked the race. I was hooked on running races. I thought I would only do 5k and 10k races. Within four months of running my first race, I was training for a half marathon. I finally took the plunge and ran my first marathon last year. My ultimate goal for running is to qualify for and run the Boston Marathon. My favorite running slogan is “Running is cheaper than therapy”.
My favorites are: writing, reading, running, crocheting, traveling, Hallmark movies, Krispy Kreme, and spending time at the beach.
Interesting facts: I’m an American who was born in England. I have an older brother and a younger sister. My brother has Cerebral Palsy. Sign Language is my second language. For a couple of years I was a full time missionary and was able to travel to many countries. To date I have run 15 half marathons and 1 marathon.
