Over the last month I have taken a blogging break. To say I was a little overwhelmed would be an understatement. During my blogging break I took time to read many of my friend’s writing to be encouraged and refreshed. I wanted to share one of the posts I read recently that was encouraging and challenging to me.
My friend, Renee, wrote a blog post about friendship. I love Renee’s honesty in this post and how she breaks down three kinds of friendships. I relate to her post in many ways and was challenged by her question at the end of her post, “what kind of friend is God calling you to be?”.
There are many seasons I go through with friendships. I am thankful for the ones that I have fought for and kept. There have been ones that I didn’t fight for and they are not a part of my life anymore… that’s okay. There are friends that I can go months without talking to and we pick right up where we left off.
I felt like this would be a great blog to challenge and also encourage you today.
Here is the first part of Renee’s post:
Did you know there are 3 kinds of friendship?
My apologies on the delay of sending out this blog. I am usually able to promptly blog about what I feel the Lord is speaking to me. However, I have let my traveling, busyness, and now sickness (I am recovering from strep) keep me from speaking up!
On September 24th, I woke up from a dream where I heard God telling me there were 3 kinds of friendship.
- Friends who fight for you and WIN
- Friends who fight for you and LOSE
- Friends who don’t even fight for you AT ALL.
Then I heard the name of a friend, Joe. (<—Click here to read the rest of Renee’s post.)
